Casen's 2 Year Old Bday

My little boy actually turned 2. And now he is obsessed with holding up 2 fingers in every picture I take. It is so funny!

His birthday was Sunday, so Saturday I had to go and buy his cupcakes and balloons. I had to hide the balloons in my car, till Sunday morning, because my kids are obsessed with balloons and they will just not leave them alone.....and they all end up stuck to the ceiling, where we can't reach them for days. So Sunday morning, I decorated for Casen's birthday and let him open one of his presents, because by the time I had finished decorationg, it was already half-way open.

We did end up having to go to church for a few hours...and yes I did make Casen go to the "dreaded" nursery, on his birthday. I know "MEAN MOM." (I have to get him trained to go to the nursery before this baby is here, or we will be in trouble). But after church we just had Grandpa Norm and Mandy's family come up for a couple of hours. The rest of Matt's family was either out of town or had other things going on. So it was really low-key, but that it was I like right now, being so prego and tired. The less confusion the better.

Anyway, all day the kids were so hyper and bouncing off the walls....over a 2 year olds bday. I think they thought lots of kids were coming and it was going to be this huge party. Anyway, it was nice. We just had some good appetizers to eat and chatted for awhile, while the kids played. Then we had Casen open his presents, which he was loving. We did open all the gifts and let the kids play with them for awhile. Then after gifts and their wrapping paper war, we sang Happy Birthday to Casen and let him blow out his candles and dig into his Little Cake. You could tell he felt special that day because he was getting so much attention. He loved all the balloons and the cake and the presents really topped off the day. We probably did not get the kids in bed till 10 PM.....cause we could not break them away from all the new toys. But I was pooped and ready to hit the sheets too. It was a good day....but I am sad that now my LITTLE GUY is 2. Crazy.

And one last thing....he is growing up....loves to sit on the potty now and pretend he is going; he repeats words like crazy; and now it is time to give up the bottle. I am so not ready to do that. And once the baby gets here, we will have to decide where he is going to sleep because after a few months, the new baby will take over the CRIB. That is going to be a fun one. And today I took him to the dr. for his 2 year check up and he is doing great. He went from 10% in weight to 20%, weighing in at 25.5 lbs. YEAH! And his height went from 75% to 30%. OOOOHHH! He did not grow much in that department. And I thought he was going to be tall! But at least he is putting weight on. That made me feel better. I love my little guy! Hopefully he will adjust when his new little brother gets here!

A Fun-Filled Week In Logan W/ My Family

We had alot of fun when my parents came up and a few of my sisters. My parents came up 2 days after Xmas, on a Monday, and we met them in SLC at Temple Square to see the lights. We had not taken our kids this year and thought it would be fun. It was nice to see and the kids really enjoyed it, but it was so cold that I was having a hard time enjoying them like I normally do and I climbed some stairs (being out of shape and pregnant) that did me in. I was pretty uncomfortable the rest of the time. But it was nice to see how much the kids enjoyed it.
The rest of the week, we really just hung out around the house, did a little shopping, the kids played with their new toys and with grandma and grandpa. We also visited some relatives and the girls and kids went out to dessert one night. We also went out to eat at Olive Garden one night too. And took the kids to see Yogi Bear at the theatres. Em and Steven also came up with Mya their Bulldog for 2 days or so and the kids were excited to see them. The kids loved playing with Mya and doing crafts with EM. I felt bad, but I made Mya stay in the garage this time, because I didn't want my house to smell like dog before the baby arrives. The kids loved to go out there and play with her and Casen actually got use to her and was not afraid. So that was nice. But I think Mya was a little under the weather; making her stay in a cold garage without all the attention. They took her home a day early.
Friday, Dec. 31st, was my dad's birthday, so he decided he wanted to go skiing at his old stomping grounds up at Beaver. So he took Matt and my sister Becca and her boyfriend JR and they went up for half a day. It was so cold that it did not sound fun to me, but they all came back and said they had a good time. That night we celebrated my dad's birthday with a nice dinner, presents, cake and ice cream and a good old family DOKRY DANCE PARTY. The kids were loving it and Becca loves to be center of attention, so it all worked out. (Love ya Becs.) I usually love to get up there and dance too, but this prego belly is really making me feel OLD and TIRED! They were actually dancing to FELIZ NAVIDAD, Cade's favorite song. That is why they got all the instruments out and the maracas. We let the kids stay up till about 10:30 and pretend to have a HAPPY NEW YEARS. Becca and JR left to go find some parties in SLC and Park City and so Matt and I and my parents talked till about 1:00 AM.
They had to leave Sunday morning and it was hard to say good-bye, like it always is. I know I get to see my mom in a month or so, when I deliver the baby, so that made it not as hard to see them go. But I am always sad, knowing it will be awhile before I get to see them again. Casen really warmed up to both grandma and grandpa and it was so cute to see him snuggle up to both of them. Like I always say, wish we lived closer. Now I have to catch up on sleep, take my xmas stuff down, clean my house, and get ready for this baby to arrive. So much to do, in a months time. But I am READY!

My Baby is Growing Up

I can't believe that I am going to have another baby boy in about a month and that MY BABY now IS NOT going to be my baby anymore. We still call Casen....BABY and I keep telling him that when mommy has a new baby.....that the new baby will be my "little baby" and he will be my "big baby." I just can't let it go....he is still so small to me and I can't believe that he will be a big brother. Casen will be 2 years old on Sunday and it is crazy to me. He is so much fun and so fun to watch grow up. Everyday he does or says something new that makes us laugh. Just this past month, he has started really watching TV. He watches it in the car, he takes a bottle in my bed and watches it, and he sits in front of the TV every morning with a bottle and blanket and watches TV, while I do my chores. It cracks me up. Its like one day it just hit....that there is interesting stuff on TV. And he even comes and tries to tell me what his show is all about. And this last week I have been so tired, so he will let me get one more hour of shut-eye, after the kids leave for the bus. He watches TV in my bed, while I rest right next to him. It has been awesome....cause I know in about a month, I will be sleep deprived again with a newborn.

Anyway, just thought I would vent about my baby turning 2 and how it is wigging me out. I am sad, but at the same time it is fun to watch him grow. He can now open doors, so I have had to put a baby proof thing on the pantry cause he carries food all over the house and makes a mess. And he can now get into the kids rooms, which they are not pleased about. I don't know if he is getting taller or just more capable. At church and at home when we say prayer, he folds his arms so cute or kneels on the ground like a big boy. It just melts my heart. He also loves his Corey Coos. Everytime he wakes up in the morning and at naptime, he always asks for Corey. Precious. He is such an easy kid too. I feel very blessed! I love him and need to make a conscious effort to still hold him LOTS when the new ones arrives.

Cute Holiday Pics of my Family

So I was not actually at these holiday events, but as I was downloading my moms' pictures, I realized that I wanted these pics to be on my blog and in my binded blog at the end of the year. There are some really cute ones of my grandpa, my parents, my brother Mike and his girlfriend Angie, my sister Becca and her boyfriend JR, and my older sister Steph and her family. So cute!
