So OVER my tacky ROOTS

So I decided to dye my hair darker again this winter. I am so over my dark roots and I do not have time or they money to dye my hair blond once a month. So I decided to go a little more natural and go darker. Now I will only have to get my hair done once every 5-6 months. Every time I have a baby I get these dark roots and crazy new regrown bang things. HORRIBLE. Hormones do some crazy things. But I love it. And I am sure my mother-in-law will tell me she likes it better blond like 10 times, but OH WELL!
So last night I was feeling so awful wondering if I would even be able to get my hair done today. I had body aches again, a fever, worst stomach ache ever, and a headache. I just either cannot kick this FLU or it was my new birth control pills I started taking. Went to the hospital, just to make sure I was not prego, because I was having all this morning sickness feeling. NOT PREGO. So I stopped my pills and had Matt give me a blessing and I am starting to feel better finally! Not 100%, but better. I have never been affected by BC pills before, so it was weird! Hope I am not dying of some underlying reason. But my really awesome friend watched Casen while I went and got my hair done. Doesn't hair make you feel so much better about yourself? I have been wearing a hat the last month, so it felt good to get it done! Friends are Awesome and so is getting your hair done!

Halloween Fun!

So yes , Halloween is already over. Corey kept saying she could not believe it was already over. It was an OK holiday this year. I kept wondering if my kids were going to be healthy enough for Halloween this year. I knew they would be devastated if they had to miss trick-or-treating. So I sent Corey and Cade to school, on dress-up day Halloween, Friday and they were both fine and had a fun day! Well that night Cade and Casen both came down with High Fevers. So I do not know if they had a different virus the week before and were now getting the FLU virus that me and Corey had. But Cade and Casen were sick and so Halloween was not exactly fun!
Cade was OK by Halloween night, as long as I was giving him MOTRIN. So we let him go to a trunk-or-treat for about and hour and then come home. I tried to go with the baby and stayed only 30 minutes and we was ready to go, sicker than a dog. Corey was fine, but I did not really want her out in the cold too long and get sick again. It has seriously been the worst 2 weeks of my life. PLEASE NO MORE SICKNESS!
We are all feeling pretty good now, but Halloween was not so fun for me and for Casen and Cade. Casen did not even get to wear his Polar Bear costume because it was such a HOT costume and he had a fever and I did not want him to overheat. And next year it will not fit him. Guess I will have to save it for our next baby!
But they had fun at school and their Halloween parties. The kids always love dressing up! They went to a fun trunk-or-treat with their cousins on Halloween. We also took a few pics of the baby in some of his Halloween clothes. We actually had some trick-or-treaters this year; about 10. It was amazing. Most of them did not climb the hill though; they had their parents driving them. And I was really surprised at the teenagers this year and their non-costumes, just wanting candy. Kinda funny!

Dreadful Weekend

So no pics with this blog because I am sure we all just look awful this week, especially me..... No make-up, no hair done, etc. Corey woke up Friday morning with a sky high fever of 103 and I knew it was here. Whether or not we had the flu or swine flu, I do not know, but we are slowly getting better and it was awful.

Corey and I had the same symptoms.... fever, sore throat, forced cough, body aches, etc. But Casen and Cade just had a low-grade fever and throwing-up. It is always sad to watch a baby throw-up.

And the other thing that sucked is that I was sick too and Matt was gone in Moab till late Sat. night, which could have been good because maybe he will not get it. But I doubt it. This thing is catchy. But I was so tired and was having to tend to the kids.... fever checks at 3 in the morning, laundry with dirty towels and clothes and blankets, lysoling for germs, washing barfed on sheets, etc. The wonders of motherhood.

Everytime I am really sick, I always appreciate my mom more because she took care of me when I was young. I always wish I could be the child for the week and be taken care of, instead of taking care of others while I feel crappy too. And never getting enough sleep when it is really needed.

The grossest part of motherhood I have to admit and I am sure most mothers agree is throw-up. I would much rather clean-up poop or get it on my hand, but throw-up is awful. Cade somehow got in our bed Sat. night and with no warning started blowing chunks all over me and Matt and our bed. SOOOO GROSSSS! Then at 3 in the morning, I was changing bed sheets and bathing Cade and me and trying to get the rest of the kids back in bed. SOOOO CRAPPY! Throw-up sucks! Where is that in the how-to manual for motherhood?

But we are all getting better just in time for Halloween and candy. The kids were so worried they would miss that. No more fevers. Just a little on the weak side and no appetite. We should be better by Halloween. Had to cancel our little Halloween party we have every year with relatives and neighbors because I was just not feeling up to it and who wants to come to a house that was just infected with the flu?? NOT ME! So maybe again next year!!!

Kinda hope it was the swine and we got it out of the way! But who knows?? Wish they would do testing to let us know! It would be so much more reassuring as a mom to know that we all had it and survived and are immune to it. OH WELL! We are all getting better and that is all that matters. NOW JUST TO GET CAUGHT UP ON SLEEP!

Halloween Fun with Friends & at School

Last week was really fun for Corey and Cade. Corey had lost of fun things going on at school because it was RED RIBBON Week. She had a "crazy hair" day, "Pajama Day," and "Hero Day." Crazy Hair day was suppose to be Pippy Longstocking style, but I could not get it to work at 7:30 in the morning. So we went with colored piggy buns or something to that effect. Then Hero Day, I was not about to go and buy another costume, so we went with Pink Superman shirts from Old Navy and we bought a few for her cousins and friend. They looked adorable.
We also carved pumpkins and ate Chilli at the Bundersons house and that was fun too. We always have alot of fun with them and our kids get along so well too. Matt even got into the action of pumpkin carving this year. He is usually not huge on Halloween stuff. Corey was pretty bummed when she had to miss Spirit Day on Friday because she came down with the dreaded FLU.

Midnight Madness- CRAFTY ONLY ONCE A YEAR

So for those of you that know me, I am so not the crafty type or the creative type. Two things I fail at are Crafts and Hair. I am so not creative. If someone gives me the materials and an example, I can sometimes copy it. It may not look as good as the model, but close. So once a year, our ward has this thing called Midnight Madness, where we signed up for crafts, and we work on all them till 11:00 PM, without the kids. It is fun, but by the end of the night, I am so crafted out. So here are my 4 crafts I did. I was glad how they turned out, but I am also glad they are over with. Until next year........

St. George & Vegas- UEA Weekend

We decided to get away from Logan for UEA because the weekend was suppose to be freezing and our kids had a few days off. So we left Thursday night and headed down to St. George. Our friends the Bundersons met us down there late Thursday night.
We had alot of fun! We went swimming at this really fun community pool. The kids loved it. We also let them play in there fountains in downtown St. George. The weather was perfect... 75 Degrees one day and 80 degrees another. We also chose to go into Las Vegas on Saturday. Ryan, one of our friends had never been there and I don't think his kids had either. His wife had been once. We did spend a little too long at the AWESOME outlets there. I think we wore the kids out. And shopping with Matt is no fun. I didn't get to buy very much. But I guess it was good for me. We ended up going into Vegas for a few hours. We drove down the strip so the kids could see all the cool lights and hotels. Then we got out on the south end of Vegas and took them to the M&M factory and the Coke Factory and then we walked down and saw the Bellagio Fountain show. By this time it was probably 10:30 PM or so and the kids were pooped. That last 30 minutes was torture trying to make it back to the car with 7 tired kids and only 3 strollers. And it is really funny the attention you get when you take kids to Vegas; especially 7 kids and 3 strollers. It was fun and I am glad the kids got to go, but next time we need to do an adult trip. You can do so much more and walk alot farther and dress up cute with high heels.
Oh and did I forget to mention that we ate at In-n-Out 2 times and if we would have let Matt, we would have eaten there for every meal! He is obsessed.
The kids played really well together and we had alot of fun with our friends. And I could not believe how good baby Casen was. He was awake the whole time in Vegas in awe of the lights.

So Precious

So Precious. He is so freakin cute! We were trying on Halloween Costumes with Casen the other day and he is going to be a POLAR BEAR! I love it. He didn't like it too much, but it will keep him warm. And I love when he falls asleep when I am feeding him. So PRECIOUS!
He goes in for his 9 month in a week or so. Let's HOPE is is gaining weight. If not, I do not know what the answer is. He is totally eating the amount of oz. he is suppose to be eating and more. So hopefully my little munchkin is growing!
