My Baby's 2 Today

Can't believe my baby is 2 today. Crew was such a special blessing into our lives, two years ago today. He gave us a little scare and had to be in the NICU for almost 24 hours, when he was born, but everything turned out fine and he is crazy as ever today. He is definitely my most active and curious child, but so cute and so funny! He knows he is cute and he uses that against me. We call him "George" after Curious George. We also call him "Psycho baby" or "Crazy kid" or "Devil baby." He purposely tries to make my life HARD. One day we will laugh at all of his stories, but right now they are still a little raw and fresh and still make me mad! Love him. So glad he has been a part of our lives. He brings a smile to my face and  a laugh everyday. Love you BABY! Go ahead and get less crazy this next year, just don't grow up to fast!

Ski Day with Corey and Cade

My kiddos actually had a day off of school today and they begged me or Matt to take them skiing. I really was not looking forward to it because I knew how cold it would be. It has been in the negatives the last 2 weeks in Logan and I am so over it. The last thing I wanted to do, was go up and freeze skiing. I could not find a babysitter and then Matt told me he could work from home and watch the little ones, if I wanted to take Corey and Cade. UGGH! I had no way out. What parents will do for their kids! Corey has a ski trip with her school, in a month, and so she wanted to get some practice in. This was the first time we have been up all season. It is so hard with little ones at home. We either have to find a babysitter or just one of us adults has to go up with the kids. We can't both go!

It actually was a good day! It was not crowded. It was not too cold, although it would have been nicer if it was a little warmer. It was about 11 or 12 degrees. The longer lifts were cold. The Little Beaver lifts were so short, they were not bad. Cade did way better than I expected. He just does not complain. I guess that is a boy thing. Corey did as good as she always does, but we had a few tears, when feet and hands got cold and we had to go in to the Lodge and un-thaw. I felt bad because my kiddos ski poles are too short and they were struggling with that. And a few times when Corey fell, she had to take her skiis off to walk up and get her poles. So we had a few tears. But I told her that she needs to toughen up a little, in time for her ski trip. Skiing is not suppose to be easy. It is a workout. And I told her that adults are there for supervision, but that when you are skiing, you kind of have to fend for yourself. I remember crying as a college student, when I was learning to snowboard.... Many days where I was sore and tired and sick of landing on my bum. I guess it comes with the territory! I even had to go and buy Cade a neck warmer in the ski shop because I was feeling bad that his little chin was just hanging out. Me and Corey had our neck warmers, but he didn't.  It snowed up there all day! And it was pretty COLD! My kids are already sore, so I don't want to know what tomorrow brings. Their little legs and backs are sore already!

The kids had fun in the end and they want to go up again when it is warmer. Corey wants to go up a couple more times before her ski trip. And so does Cade. The roads were kinda scary too, especially coming home! I was driving pretty slow home...35-40 mph and had like 10 cars behind me, but I saw 2 accidents and cars off the road and I did not want to be one of them. I even had 2 cars speed out around me, but I was over it. I was going to keep my family safe. People are so stupid! You  see a car accident and they still don't get it. They still drive fast and they think they are indestructible.
But it was fun! And I am so excited that 2 of my kids are getting pretty good and can get down the mountain. Two more kids to teach and then we can actually all go as a family. But it will cost a fortune! It already does!

Sledding....FINALLY!

I finally took the kids sledding today. Every holiday or Saturday that has come around this last month has been so cold that we have not been able to go. It was still freezing today, but it was sunny and so we decided to brave it. It was only about 5-8 degrees the whole time they were sledding, but they kept warm because of the sun and all the hiking up and down the hill. We found the most perfect spot. I can park my car right at the bottom and watch them the whole time. It is just down the street from our house, in Hyde Park.

Corey and Cade loved it the whole time. They went from the top of the hill probably 25 times. Cade brought a neighbor friend Mathew and Casen brought Riley, Mathews younger brother. Riley(4) braved it the whole time too from the very top of the hill and so did his brother. Casen would only go from the middle of the hill, but after he accidentally slipped from the top of the hill and rode down on a sled backwards, he was done. He came and sat in the car with me and Crew. I did get him to go back out again and give it another try once he quit crying and warmed up. Crew played in the snow for about 10 minutes and then got cold. I wanted to take Crew sledding, but it was way too cold and we were short a pair of GOOD gloves.

The kids had alot of fun! And this spot was perfect. Now we just need it to warm up, so we can stay out their longer and the little ones enjoy it a little more.

Casen...just checking out the BIG HILL!

He's Growing Up!

Casen as a baby....

His Halloween Costume that he never got to wear because he got SICK with a high fever on Halloween!

My BIG BOY!

I can't believe Casen is 4 years old now. He is getting so big and grown up. It is making me sad! He was my hardest child labor because he was born at 2 AM and I was so exhausted! But he has been one of my easiest kids. He is so easy going and is easily entertained. And he is so funny! The funniest things come out of his mouth and he doesn't even try. He is a worry wart just like his dad and very cautious. He would never do anything dangerous! He is so grown up for his age. He protects his little brother Crew from eating anything "Chokey." And he helps me keep Crew out of trouble....always telling me when Crew is getting into something he shouldn't be. He loves to snuggle and always asks to snuggle with me. He obeys me really well too. And he loves electronics. He probably works them better then me!  He is in the stage of life where he is learning alot. He copies everyone and wants to do what all the older kids are doing! He loves candy and treats. And he is my pickiest eater....He keeps McDonalds and Panda Express in business. I love you Casen. Slow down and quit growing up! You are such a sweetheart!
