Frightmares at Lagoon

My kids have been bugging me for the past 2 years to take them to Frightmares, so we finally did it! They even saved their own money.  I found a babysitter for the two little boys and we headed down after school. During Frightmares, Lagoon is only open at nights from 5-10, except for Saturdays. So we went on a Monday, after school, and we met Becca there. It was so stressful because it was raining the whole way, driving to Lagoon, so I didn't want to get there and pay the money and have all the rides be closed. But we decided to be optimistic and chance it!

It was such a good night. It rained a little bit the first 1.5 hours, but not hard enough to where they shut the rides down or to where it was too painful to go on rides. There were a few rides we got wet on, but after about 7:00 it was just a little cold, not rainy. And because of the weather and it being a Monday, we walked on every ride. It was so awesome!

Me and Becca both felt a little beat up at the end of the night because we are not use to going on that many roller coasters in a night and not having any time in between rides to recoup, because we were getting on rides to fast! I felt a little nauseated at times and had a headache at times too. But it was so fun. I love roller coasters and don't get to go on all of them when we go as a family because I usually stay with the younger kids on their rides! The spider still is the coolest ride. I forgot how scary Wicked is. And I made Becca go on all the spinning rides that I can't do. It's so funny. She is only 8 years younger than me and she does not get dizzy like I do. I'm so old!

We also went in some Haunted Houses. We went on a 3 STAR bright colored trippy haunted house first and the kids were a little on edge. I held onto Cade so tight. Then we went on a 4 STAR creepier haunted house with the kids. I held onto Corey that time and it was scary. Its not the scenes that are scary. It is the people jumping out at you that freak me out! They were done after that, but me and Becca got brave and went on the 5 STAR Haunted House. It was creepy. Becca is pretty brave. She was MY ROCK! I would not have gone on those alone, without Becca.

My favorite part of the night, was the Hackensaw Dancers. They were these awesome looking chainsaw dancers with the coolest masks. They were both boy and girl, you could tell and they were so fun to watch. They were so intriguing. We studied them for a bit and took pics with them. I could've watched them all night long.

Frightmares was fun! Glad my kids loved it! We picked the perfect night. Glad I left the little ones home. We will have to go next year!

The LOVEBIRDS on the side could not keep their hands off each other. So strange!

Pumpkin Walk Fun!!

We love going to the pumpkin walk every year. It is our favorite. People are so creative and we love to see their creations. I love to go once during the day and once at night. So I took my little boys during the day on Friday and it was such nice weather too. We got to walk around and see all the exhibits. And we went at lunch time so we beat all the school classes that were coming that day or that had already come. So it was perfect. No lines and the boys just got to walk freely. Our favorite was the Wreck-it-Ralph and the Pixar exhibit with all the Disney scenes. A few other favorites of mine were Ghostbusters and Cabbage Patch Kids. The Despicable Me one was great too!

Dusty the Plane- Pixar Exhibit
Lightning McQueen and Mater- Pixar Exhibit

Woody- Pixar Exhibit
Despicable Me- Sisters
The Minions
And of course, afterwards, they all like to play in the face boards and they want me to take a million pics. So I FAKE PHOTO- ED them alot. Pretended like I was taking a pic and didn't.

We also saw some friends on the way out and said Hi. They decided to bury each other in leaves! So funny!

Later that day, when the kids all got home, we took everyone to go and watch the Aggie Soccer Girls play New Mexico. We met a few girls from the soccer team there too and Corey's coach Kirt and his family. It was a good game. 0-0.

After dinner,  I took the kids back to the pumpkin walk, at night, because it is fun to see everything all lit up. I knew it was suppose to be a relatively warm weekend compared to the following week, so we went AGAIN. Plus Corey did not get to go at school because the 5th graders have too much work to do. So it was fun! It was so crowded that we had to wait in a 20 minute line just to get in. But once you were in, it was fine! It is just a little harder to keep track of your kids.

Boy Scouts and Old Ephraim

Once again, we weren't disappointed. We loved it!

Deer Hunt/Camping

We thought we would join Matt this past weekend and camp with him, while he was also getting some deer hunting in. We all went up Friday night and stayed the night. It was a little chilly outside, but if you were by the fire it was nice. The camper was nice and warm because our heater works awesome!

We went up Logan Canyon and met some friends up there....the Olsens, the Thatchers and Nate Daugs Family! The kids absolutely love camping! They love playing in the camper, they love the fire, they love exploring and going on hikes, they love the junk food, and they love the four wheeler rides. They  just love it and their clothes also show it!

Crew was obsessed with putting wood in the fire, which was stressing me out. We had to watch him pretty good around the fire. We all slept really good that night, probably the best I have slept camping in a really long time! The next morning, we all just sat around the fire and ate breakfast and waited for the sun to come up over the mountain and get us warm.  The kids then waited for the dads to come back from early morning hunting. So they explored and played and we all just sat around and talked and kept our kids from getting hurt. The kids also had turns on the ponies. They all went for a hike. They played by the river. And we took a few short 4-wheeler rides. We also managed to fit in some board games! I stayed till about noon and then took the two little boys home. They were pretty sad, but Matt was going to take the older two hunting/hiking with him that night and couldn't watch the little boys! So I took them home and Matt and Corey and Cade slept over another night. I had to be home to teach church class the next morning, so I had to go home. Plus I was really excited to shower and sleep in a nice soft bed! They didn't see much up there that weekend. But I did see a few smaller ones close to our house!

I really do love camping, but it is a little bit more enjoyable when it is not so cold! My kids want to go up again, but it will probably be the last camp of the season!
