Fun Week With Steph and the Cousins

So this week was fun! Steph was still in town visiting, so she decided to come up and stay for a few days. My kids love to play with their cousins, especially now that they live in CA now. They really miss them. The kids got along pretty good and we are loving the BASEMENT. The kids play down there and we get a little peace and quiet upstairs. It was fun to see Steph too and get to talk . We also got to watch a movie in the THEATRE ROOM. Ever seen the movie FOREVER STRONG? Super good! The kids were up late everynight and I thought we would be paying the price, but it was not too bad! They did wake up very early the first morning and I was so TIRED. We also stayed up late every night talking and watching movies. I am paying the price now, so tired and I have a cold now. So do my kids, especially the baby and he is miserable. I feel bad for him!
We did get to go over and see Gramps! And that was fun! The kids were playing in the ditch and of course grandpa started the water fight and the kids NEVER know when to end it. Gramps had to change his clothes he was so soaked through. He gave them 4-wheeler rides too. And he stocked them up with goodies... ice cream, cookies and more. I love grandpa and it is so fun to go over to Wellsville and visit him. I could tell he was getting tired and so we went home and had a fun BBQ.
We also went to the kids museum in Ogden on Monday and that was fun! It was so cute and the kids loved it!
And we went to the Fun Park in Logan and let the kids skate and play on the Fun Zone thing. We also played DEAL OR NO DEAL and oh WOW it was addicting. We ended up winning like 650 tickets just from that game. It was awesome and the kids were loving that. The girls picked up skating after an hour or so of trying. I think they had fun!
It was fun to see Steph and her kids. And now I need to catch up on some sleep! I love summertime and I can tell it is coming to and end soon and I am sad! I am trying not to get depressed, but I feel it coming on. WINTER SUCKS!!!

Star Valley Cabin- July 2009- Last Weekend

Last weekend was so relaxing. We finally got to go up to the cabin in Star Valley with some friends and family. We went with The Bundersons and their 4 kids and Matt's brother Toph and his wife and their little 1 year old.

We just stayed around there and let the kids play. We talked alot, just the girls, while the guys golfed, mountain biked and golfed again. We did take the kids swimming for a couple hours on Saturday which was fun too.

But it was so nice, not having to go out to dinner with all the kids or take them all to Jackson and hear them whine while we looked through the shops. The kids had alot of fun and we ate good food and I ALMOST GOT ATTACKED BY A FREAKIN HUGE GERMAN SHEPPARD. It just totally confirmed my scaredness of MEAN BIG DOGS. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, but not when they are chasing after your golf cart, trying to get a nibble, and you have 2 (6 year old girls) and a 6 month old, you are trying to protect. I did go into " Mommy mode" and was yelling at the dog to go home, but I was so scared. I was shaking for awhile afterwards.

But, besides the dog, it was relaxing and the kids played great and slept great. Corey did have a humungous mosquito bite that was itching like crazy. So we put some "Magic Cream" on it that helped it a little bit.

I am excited to go again in a month or so. We love it there. And the kids did too!

Weekend in SLC- Daddy in Alaska

So while Matt was in Alaska, I went down and stayed with Em in Pleasant Grove with her hubby Steven and their dog Mya, in a 1 bedroom apt. It was not bad. My kids actually did well and it was fun to get to stay with Em and see how here day-to-day schedule goes. I was lucky too because my sister Steph and her family was visiting. They have moved to CA, so I was lucky that we got to see them and hang out with them for a few days.

So these pics are not great because I let Matt take my good camera to Alaksa and I got one of those disposable pieces of CRAP! So this was all I got. But it was so much fun!

We got to go to a water park in Lindon with Em and Steph and the kids. I actually had a touching moment there because Corey had to pass a swim test to go on the water slide by herself, with no adults. So the first time she did not pass because she could not see and did not have her goggles. The lifegaurd let her take it again with the goggles and she did pass. The last 1/4 of the lap she had to swim, I was tearing up, cheering her on. I knew how bad she wanted this and I hate to see my kids struggle or get scared. It was a happy moment when she PASSED!
But it was so fun to get to see the kids play together and get to talk to my sisters.

We also went swimming at this amazing gym called Lifetime. And that was great too!
We went to this place called Kangaroo Zoo and the kids just bounced on those "bounce houses" for 4 hours. They went to sleep good that night.

My kids and I took a night and slept over at my friends house and let the kids have a "long-awaited sleepover" that they have been planning .They live so far away that it has never worked out. So that was fun getting to talk with Marsha and letting the kids play. We got lucky and got to go through the Okkir Temple Open House. The kids thought that was interesting. It was a little hard with me and Marsha and 6 kids, but I was glad we did it. Corey said to me afterwards when I was asking her about it..... "I thought the inside was all going to be made of gold." It was cute. We then took them to the dinosaur museum in Draper and that was fun too!

So were having such a good time that I decided to stay one more night. And that night, my kids and me and Em went to the Mayan Restaurant in Sandy and got to eat some good grub and see the divers. My kids thought it was a pretty cool restaurant. I had not been there in awhile. It was fun to go there again.

So we were ready to go home and see daddy. He was getting home that night, LATE! Steph did come up the following week and stayed a few days. The kids had alot of fun. It was so nice having our basement done. The kids played down there the whole time and me and Steph actually got to have a conversation, a few of them. My kids really miss them and can't wait to go to CA to see them again!

I love Summertime and no schedules. We just kinda plan things week by week!

4th of July Weekend- Antique Car Show

So 4th of July was fun. I think this is actually one of my favorite holidays because I love the summer. I love barbeques... I love hanging out in the backyard on the grass. I love it!

So we just had the Bundersons up for a barbeque and let the kids swim and did some fireworks. It was really relaxing and I think the kids had fun. In fact, Corey's little friend Shania, said, "This was the best 4th of July I ever had." So I think the kids had fun too.

Then Saturday, Matt and his friends went for a mountain bike ride up Logan Canyon, so I took the kids to the Car Show and the Parade with Nanny and Grandpa Norm. Brittney was also there with Halle. (Sorry, no pics). The kids really enjoyed the cars and so did I. I love a good parade and get-togethers at the fairgrounds. Afterwards we had a little BBQ up at my house with the family and some of the adults watched a movie in the theatre room. So it was an eventful weekend.

I am getting sad as summer is drawing to a close. I really feel some depression coming on. I love the heat and water parks and being outside. I am so sad. The kids already start school in like 4 weeks. WHAT???
