Corey's Betsy Ross Presentation

Corey had a presentation at school that was due last week and she did a really good job. Corey is in a group at school called SEM that just meets once a week during school and challenges the kids a little more. To be honest, it just sounded like more work for me to do, but they do most of it at school and she loves the extra challenge. This year, they were to choose a person in history that has made a difference. So Corey chose Betsy Ross, the women who made the first American Flag. She did lots of research on her character and they wrote poems about their character. They even had to make a big poster about their person and also dress up like them. I was very proud of Corey.

Then one night last week, they brought their posters and dressed up like their famous people and met at North Park Elementary. They were all asked to re-sight their poems they wrote about their person. Then we were able to walk around and see all the kids posters that were displayed. I was nervous for her reciting her poem, but she did great! She really is growing up and coming out of her shell! She did awesome and I thought she looked so cute in her little costume!
