Corey's Friend Party actually ended up being the night of her real birthday because it was on a Friday. She invited all the girls on her soccer team and then 2 other friends from the neighborhood and school! They were so cute and it turned out super cute! She had a LATE NIGHT with the girls from 7:00-10:30. They all got along so good and were relatively quiet. It is so much easier to have a party with 10 year olds than a bunch of 5 year olds. They kind of just take care of themselves.
They first played outside and around the yard until everyone arrived. Then we split them into 2 teams and they did a scavenger hunt around the neighborhood. Then we had all the girls grab a snack while Corey opened up her presents. She got some cute stuff! Then all the girls got in the hot tub for about 45 minutes. They loved that!
Afterwards we had all the girls get changed into their PJs and we had cupcakes and ice cream Sundaes. Corey of course had to do the NEW WEIRD FAMILY TRADITION of smashing their face in their cake. My kids invented their own tradition. Hopefully it wears off soon. Its a little silly! But they love it!
Then afterwards the girls went and did karaoke and played downstairs for about 30 minutes or so.Then we finished the night up with watching half of a movie..WRECK IT RALPH! The girls played so cute! We didn't want them up too late because they had a soccer game the next day, but not till noon. So they had some time to get rested and get all that sugar out of their bodies. Glad everything went so smooth and surprisingly their was not that big of a mess. NO cake on the ground like at a 5 year olds party! No bathing suits or wet towels left around. It was a fun time! Can't believe my little girl is 10! Holy Cow!
