Cade turned 8 last month and has started Scouts. He is loving it! This was his actual 1st pak meeting and it happened to be the Pinewood Derby pak meeting. Just in time! He earned his Bobcat! Matt got to do the duties and I took the pics! He looked so cute in his new Scout shirt. My kids are sure growing up!
Then it was time for the Pinewood Derby. Matt really worked some good hours on Cade's car with him. He also helped Casen make a car. I am so glad that Matt was into it because I was not super excited about making a car. So glad for dad's! This year, their troop decided to make it just a fun and casual night because parents have taken it a little too serious in the past and kids left crying when they didn't win. So they just decided to just let the kids race how ever many times they wanted to, against each other. And they loved it! They even let the little kids(the siblings) race a few cars that the DERBY GUY in charge had for them to borrow! The kids just loved it and this was alot better than the racing for a place or a prize. So much more relaxed and the kids were smiling the whole time and laughing! A great first experience at a Derby for Cade!
