A Short but Sweet Weekend at the Cabin

This past weekend was super fun and relaxing at Matt's family's cabin in Star Valley, Wyoming.  We love the cabin, but we always have a hard time getting up there in the summer because we get so busy. We went up there with Matt's sister Mandy and her family. We miss hanging out with those guys so we decided to finally plan a weekend with them.

We got there super late Friday night and didn't get the kids in bed till midnight. That night Crew and Mandys baby Tyke both slept like crap, which also meant we slept like crap. So Mandy and I were kinda tired all weekend.

Saturday morning, we took the kids for a golf cart ride down to the park and got chased by dogs. It was a little scary. (I swear I am a magnet for mean dogs that chase people.) Then we took the kids swimming later for a couple of hours at the ranch swimming pool. The kids always love swimming. It was so nice this time because Casen can finally use a life jacket the correct way and it takes a lot of stress off of me, at the pool! And Matt was there swimming too and playing with the kids.

Then we headed into Jackson. We stopped and ate in Alpine and then headed to Jackson. We let Matt and Regan do a quick bike ride while we hung with the kids and got a treat. Then afterwards we took the kids to do the Alpine Slides which they liked. Then we walked around Jackson Hole for about and hour and got ice cream and looked in all the gift shop stores. (Mandy got some good pics that I will post later.) It was an eventful day, but not too stressful. The kids were really good, until the end, when my kids were pouting about not getting stuffed animals in Jackson. Really kids? We have so many freakin stuffed animals, we could open up our own Toy Store. NO MORE!

Then Sunday, we made breakfast, lounged around, went to the park, lounged some more, ate lunch and then packed up and got ready to go home. It was such a fun and relaxing weekend. I hope we get up there again this year before the snow and cold weather hits. My kids love it and so do I. I told Matt that I would love to go up there alone with him sometime and do some bike rides, sleep in, do some hikes, and other things that we can't do with little kiddos. One of these days!

Found a cute little river....

Thought this sign was super funny!

Kids rolling down big hill at the Alpine Slides....

Oh my gosh...biggest bear I have ever seen. Creepy. This is why I don't want to go to Alaska.

Grocery Shopping in Jackson..Crew loved this. Trying to entertain him!

He loved this cart...kept sneaking out there to sit on it. I was nervous he was going to try and drive it.

Stroll to the park!

Relaxing! (Can I say Fake smile, Jen?)
