The Beginning..... Our St. George Get-Away

So we decided to take a trip to St. George for the weekend. We left on a Friday and we planned on staying through the weekend and letting the kids miss a few days of school. Me and my kids and my sister-in-law Mandy and her 2 kids and Matt's mom came. We all decided that we
needed to get out of Logan to some warmer weather.
So kinda funny.... we have done these trips quite a bit and they end up getting harder and harder everytime we go because we are adding more kids to the equation. It use to be " Lets go on a girls trip and bring our babies. We can do some shopping and go lay out at the pool and get tan." Now it is... "Let's go to the parks, the pools, the kid stuff and if we are lucky we can hit a few stores and definitley NOT get a tan." So what I am trying to say is that it use to be a girls trip and now it is a KIDS TRIP. But I am fine with that. I am just warn out after the trip is over. I also noticed that we use to go out to sit-down eating places and now we just get take out and take it home or to a park. It is funny how our lives change so much when we have kids. THAT IS WHY GIRLS PLAN "GIRLS ONLY" TRIPS. You just need them every once in awhile to keep yourself SANE!
The trip was alot of fun. We did get to go to the outlets and to Target shopping. But the kids were not great shopping, so we did mostly kid stuff. We went swimming to this really fun indoor place. The kids loved it. And we went to a bunch of parks. We found a really cool park that I bet cost like $300,000 or more to build. Awesome! We also went to the Main Street Fountains and we took the older kids to the RED ROCKS for a little hike. The kids were behaved for the most part. We did have a few melt downs when they were so warn out each night.
The only problem we did have was that I had some crazy bug in my gut that made me sick the whole time. I had it before we left, but I just assumed it was a 24-hour bug and that I would be fine. I took Immodium on the way down just to be safe. But the rest of the time, I was crapping and I was even throwing up. My body just wanted everything cleared from it. I thought I had salmonella or ecoli or something. So I did have to go to the Insta Care there and give them a nasty sample. Once I started taking the Antibiotic I started feeling better. But it was kind of a crazy weekend. Did not get alot of sleep cause the toilet was my best friend all night. I tried to keep up with my kids, but I was really tired and dehydrated and warn out. I had no appetite either. And I was so afraid to go places in case I crapped my pants. I was always making sure that where we were had a bathroom facility. Anyway, they still have not found anything wrong with me. So I have no idea what the heck was wrong with me, but I never want to feel that way again.
Well as you can tell, I have learned to make collages with my pics. So check them out. They would not all fit on one blog, so I spread them out among 3 blogs. We took alot of pics. We had super fun. The car ride was a little crazy though with screaming babies, pooping babies, and babies throwing up. The kids trip was fun, but now I need A GIRLS TRIP. VEGAS, ANYONE???Posted by Picasa

St. Patricks Day!

My kids really do love holidays. They love to dress up and they love all the fun activities their teachers have at school for them. So kinda funny.... I was getting the kids ready for school in the morning and Corey decided to wear her little clover headband, but Cade decided he did not want to wear his, but he was just going to keep it in his backpack and show his teacher. I thought that was fine because it did look a little funny on Cade...being a boy. But at this point in my life, as a mother, I do not argue with my kids.... if they want to wear it, they go ahead. I am so over caring what people think.
So I was so surprised because Corey kept her headband on all day at school. She is usually my worrier; so worried about what people think. So when I went to pick Cade up from preschool, he had his headband on. I was laughing because I did not think he was going to wear it and ALL OF HIS TEACHERS said OH NO, HE WORE IT ALL DAY. I guess he told me all the kids and teachers loved it when he showed them that he decided to wear it. And then as we ran errands for a few hours after, he also wore it into every store and people just kept looking at him and smiling. Then we ran by dads work and showed him and all his friends and they got quite a kick out of it. He just had this goofy smile with his clover headband...it was just funny! At that age they can get away with wearing anything.
I was kinda feeling bad because it is hard enough for a mom just to remember to dress their kids up for holidays....blah, blah,blah... So I got that part right. Well as I was reading a few of my friends blogs and hearing a few stories from my kids after school, moms really get into St. Patricks Day! They make green meals and have treasure hunts with gold and rainbows at the end and secret leprechauns visiting the house. I was feeling like I did not do enough. Is St. Patricks Day really a holiday? What are we celebrating? All I can remember is that it is my sisters birthday and I have to get her a present and to wear green, so my kids do not pinch me all day. THEY HAVE A MEAN PINCH!

Corey's Science Fair

So this year again, Corey wanted to do the Science Fair. I think it is great that she wants to do extra credit projects, just because she likes to learn and she likes to be involved. This time around, I almost had a melt down though because the project was becoming MY PROJECT. I like to help my kids find their ideas and get them started, but it irritates me when it becomes my project. I got angry with her one night, when she was whining about gluing all the stuff to her poster board. I told her this was HER IDEA, not mine and that she needed to follow through with it or I would not let her do these extra projects every year.
But it ended up working out. Her project was the TARNISHED PENNY. She soaked dirty pennies in certain liquids, for a couple days, to see which liquid cleaned the best. In fact, Apple Juice cleaned the best, which was so weird. None of us guessed that liquid would clean the best. But she had a fun time doing it.
She loves going to the Science Fair and and seeing the people in her class and their projects. And both Cade and Corey like to walk around and learn all about the other projects. There were alot of Volcanoes this year and white flowers soaking in colored water. There was also a project identical to Corey's and they had a different outcome. But I guess that is how Science Works. Kinda fun! Next year Corey and Cade will be able to do a Family Project together. That will be ALOT OF FUN to decide together which project to do. I can already see a battle in the future.

Fun Friday Night

We decided to take the kids to Disney on Ice finally. We have not been for a few years because I was prego and had a newborn, etc...... So we decided to venture out and try it again because the kids always loved it before. We went with my sister-in-law Mandy and her family. I did give Matt the option if he wanted to go or not, because he has gone before and said he would never go again. He did decide to go this time, but he really did not enjoy one minute of it. Why does he do that to himself and me? It so annoying to have a whiny husband who is not enjoying himself at a KIDS EVENT. Does he not know that it is not for our enjoyment, it is for the kids? Anyway, enough of that... I love going cause I love watching the kids get excited and enjoying themselves. I admit that by the end of the night, I am exhausted and it is alot of work, butit is so worth it. Casen is kinda hard right now too. Going to movies, church, etc... places where he has to be confined; he does not enjoy and gets really antsy. But what do you do? He is only 1 years old. It was really fun! I loved all the music and costumes. My favorite was Lion King. Cade's favorite was CARS. Corey's favorite was Tinkerbell. And Daddy's favorite was "WHEN IT WAS OVER."
Tonight, was another example of why moms have more patience with kids and kid events. Matt forgets how long it takes to get to the car, change diapers, get everyone situated and pottied, and ready to go. And he has no patience for stuff like that. It makes me laugh. You can tell he is use to being with grown-ups and himself all day and forgets that mom/kid time takes way longer. But we did have a good time. The kids appreciated it more because we have not been in awhile and they are older this time around.

Springtime is NEAR

So yes, this blog is about Casen. Is that OK with everyone? J/K. So the other day on my way to pick up Cade from preschool, we had 10 minutes or so to spare, so I stopped to show Casen some cows, that I spotted at the side of the road. We had been in the car a long time that day, and he was so ready to get out. He is just starting to learn the animal noises with his bathtub toys, so I thought it would be fun for him and something new, if he could actually see a cow in person and hear the noise they make. He loved it. He was not so sure of the crunchy hay beneath his feet, but he was so in awe of the cows. Alot of them were calfs. And of course the minute we got in the car to leave, the calfs moved all the way over to the fence, but they would not move over to us, while we were standing there. Anyway, I am so excited for spring, even though it is still FREAKIN COLD HERE..... It is also so fun to see a babys' FIRSTS. He was so excited about his first adventure with a real farm animal. I am so excited to take him to BABY ANIMAL DAYS in APRIL. He is going to love it! Oh and you gotta love CASENS huge front teeth. I hope he grows into those.

Fun Night With The Girls

Yes I do admit, I watch that LAME show called THE BACHELOR. This might be my last season, just because I am always bugged by the outcome. But I really do have fun getting together with some of the neighbor girls for girl chat, food, and fun. So tonight, we actually got together for the marriage ceremony of one of the older bachelor couples, MOLLY AND JASON. We all had to bring wedding appetizers, wedding gag gifts, and dress up in an old wedding dress, bridesmaid dress, or dance dress, etc. It was so fun getting to see how these dresses dated back. I actually wore my old homecoming dress that I wore in 1996, the fall of my senior year. The turquoise green mermaid color and the sparkles were what I thought was funny, but my dress was not as bad as some of the others. It was so funny. I loved Janees green mermaid dress that she wore to her prom; same color as mine. And I loved all the bride dresses. So funny.
We really do have a good time together. My cheeks hurt by the end of the night from smiling so much and laughing. When you don't have sisters around, good fun girlfriends always fill that void. Sometimes you just need those GIRL NIGHTS! It is so fun to be 30 and still SILLY!

Oh and the pictures of me and my wedding dress.... Oh yes that is my wedding dress. WOW! All I can say is WOW! After that nigh, I was curious to pull out my dress and see how the times have changed. It was OK. It was so pretty when I wore it, but it has been almost 11 years. And how the styles have changed. I would so not wear it now. I had Cade take some pics of me, so I could see how it looked. I KNOW, I AM A NERD!
