Spring Break- St. George (Part 1)

It was our kids spring break at the beginning of April and so we decided to head down to St. George on a Friday night and we stayed through Monday night. It was  a lot of fun. Crew got a fever on the drive down and had a cough so we took him into the Insta Care the next morning and they gave him some steroids for his cough. It definitely helped. The weather was not the best, but it was just nice to be away! We met Dan and Marsha's family down there and hung out with them a lot. They also brought another family, Whitney and her husband and Baby. It was fun with all of them. Super fun and chill people. Love that! Love them!

We went to the park first. Casen got a new bike that morning with daddy because he has outgrown his and had given it to Crew. So he was excited to bring his new bike to the park. So we headed there first and let the kids play for an hour or so. I love the Bloomington Park. There is so much to do there.

After we hung at the park for a bit we went and ate lunch and then decided to head to the Washington Pool. The kids love that pool. Saturday was actually a pretty warm day and the sun came out for a few hours. So it felt good. The pool is mostly indoor and some of it is outdoor, so the kids stay warm. We really stayed there for a few hours. Crew was feeling better and the pool water was helping keep him cooled off. He loved it! Having their life jackets this time was the best. So much easier to watch them!

That night we decided to eat at Dickies. We love that place. Such good food and the kids love the endless ice cream machine, where they get to help themselves. Crew had a long day and slept through the whole dinner! That kid can sleep anywhere!

Sunday morning, Matt decided to take me on this bike trail called Zen. Matt and I never get to go on bike rides together anymore. So it was nice. Corey babysat at the house while we were gone. To say the least, the ride was very technical and I had to get off my bike like 100 times. It was fun to get out, but I do not love technical stuff. It was really rocky and really hard. And I just keep thinking, I can't get hurt.
I have kids to take care of! It was super windy too, so it made the ride even harder!

Sunday afternoon, we went and checked out this dinosaur museum. It was pretty cool. They found the actual dinosaur tracks in that very location and they just built a museum around them. Pretty cool!

Then later that day, we went on a little hike with the kids. It was up Red Reef Trail. It was sunny and then windy and then it rained a little. Very strange weather. But the kids still had fun! It would've been more fun if it was hot and the kids could've got more wet in the streams. Crew sleeping again. He woke up real soon, when he saw the kids were climbing and hiking on rocks! He didn't want to miss out!

We didn't get to go super far on the trail because it got sketchy and we didn't dare try and take the little ones any farther. Corey and Cade may have been able to make it, but even they would've had a hard time on the rope swing. It was still fun! Love the red rock!

We also drove past a really pretty dam out in Hurricane on our way back to the house. It was called Sand Hollow.

We ended up letting just our kids swim that night, on a Sunday, which we probably shouldn't have because Crew almost drowned. Me and Matt were just in our clothes watching the kids. And we were getting the kids out and ready to go home. So I had Crew's life jacket off and getting him in the pool shower. Corey and Cade were cleaning up all the pool toys. And Casen was getting out too. And I remember Crew saying to me that the shower was cold. I was actually standing in between the pool and the shower and did not notice Crew jump in to the pool. He didn't realize he didn't have his life jacket on. And so I looked over at the pool and saw him bobbing up and down. He could kinda touch the bottom, but not enough to keep his head above water. He was probably only in there 5 seconds because I had just seen him in the shower seconds before. No one was in helping distance and so I had to jump in and get him..shoes, jeans, sweatshirt and all. I was sopping wet and so annoyed, but it was scary and I was glad I saw him when I did. No more swimming on Sundays...even on vacation!
