Cade Turned 9

This is a little late because Cade's bday was April 18th and it is April 30th, but I still wanted to write a little something about my first son that was born 9 years ago.

We were so excited because we had our little girl Corey and so we were so excited when we found out we were having a boy! One of each gender! Cade was our easiest baby. Sometime me and Matt joke that he was so easy, I forgot what he was like as a baby. He just went with the flow. He never cried. He slept so good. He would sleep anywhere and he would sleep in till 10:00. He was a great eater. Almost too good of an eater. I had to cut him off breastfeeding because he wouldn't stop when he got full and then he would barf it up. He really was a relaxed and easy going baby.

Today, Cade still is very relaxed and easy going. The only person he fights with in this family is Corey and they are pretty competitive, but I think it is because she drives it out of him. He really is easy to have around. He is not an intense person at all. He is crazy though; very daring and has no sense of danger at all. He thinks he is indestructible and that he can do anything. But I love that about boys. They are not afraid!

I see a lot of me in Cade. He loves sweets and treats.  He is always trying to please. He is a peacemaker at school; all his teachers say! He loves sports. He loves being with friends. He goes with the flow. He is a great team player, but he never takes LIFE too serious. And he is very optimistic about life!

I teased Cade in church the other day that he is half way to his mission now. He has lived  9 years already and has 9 more years to go until he is 18. He got this panicked look like he was leaving next week. It was cute! He is such a cute brother to his little brothers. He really cares for them and he would do anything for them! So cute! He really does love Corey too. He just has a funny way of showing it!

So glad Cade is ours. He was almost born too early, at 31 weeks, and we are so glad he stayed in mom's belly and got healthier, till it was really time to be born at 39 weeks. We love you Cade!
