Memorial Weekend 2009

So this weekend was not the greatest, except for Monday when the family actually started feeling better. Saturday night, of course Corey came down with the dreaded flu and so did I. And then Sunday night, Matt also came down with the dreaded flu too. (Cade had it last weekend and no one got it, so we thought we were "Scott free. But of course NOT!) So all weekend we were sick and tired and cleaning with Lysol and washing beds and blankets, etc. So I was exhausted and was actually excited for Tuesday to role around. The only good thing was that I did not have to cook all weekend because no one felt like eating. We drank Sprite, Gatorade and ate popsicles all weekend.
The other good thing was that I did get to go out to eat Thursday night for my FREAKING 30th birthday and Grandpa Norm watched the 2 younger kids Friday night and let us go to dinner with some friends that night too. And we also got to order a little furniture for our "Almost fininshed basement" on Saturday. We counted that as my birthday, 10 year anniversary present, and Fathers Day and Mothers Day presents. Can you believe 10 years we have been married? CRAZY! Next year we want to celebrate it more and go on a trip, just Matt and I, but baby Casen is too young for us to really go anywhere this year. He is still attached at the boob. So next year, hopefully!
But finally by Monday everyone was feeling a little better and so I took the kids and we went and bought some pretty flowers and went and visited my grandparents graves in Wellsville,Utah...about 25 minutes away. I love that cemetary. It is beautiful and especially on Memorial Day. I want to be buried there some day when I get old and wrinkly. I also got to give my kids a little history lesson. And we each said something special about them.
Oh and funny story. I am use to my life as a busy mom, just taking one day at at time. Well my kids and I were trying to carry the flowers over to the graves because I had the baby in one hand. Well my car was parked sideways and totally in the way to passerbys. And I was carrying these flowers, struggling... and taking pics with one hand, etc. etc. etc. Well this skinny, OLD lady and her husband were looking at me so funny. And you have to picture this lady, shawl wrapped over her shoulders, totally pampered all her life. Well she kept giving me this look and so I said "Would you like me to move my car? Is it in your way?" And she said " No dear, but you really need some help." So I am assuming she has forgotten the days with kids. I thought I was doing pretty good, getting flowers, actually making it over to the gravesite. I was not stressed out at all. It was actually a good day. No barf, no temperatures, no laundry. So I was just laughing all the way home, promising myself that I will not be one of those kind of old people when I grow up.....but happy and enjoying life and enjoying my grandkids..... just like my Grandpa Allan. I love him. He is so special. It will be a SAD SAD day when he passes. Love you Gramps!
Hope you all had an eventful weekend.

An Event Filled Weekend & A CRAPPY Monday

Saturday was a very fun, but sad day! Corey had her dance revue and I was with her all day for the rehersal and then the REAL show! She did so cute. I was so proud of her because she gets nervous to get up in front of people, but she did so well. She did have her cousins there, in the show too, to help her get over her nervousness. But she was way more coordinated than I thought she would be and she knew the dances. I was so excited for her. I was also sad because she did not really like dance that much this year. She loves soccer and gymnastics, but not dance as much. She loved her revue, but not the class. So she does not want to do it next year. I hope down the road, she will pick it up again. I love to watch her dance and what if she ends up being my only girl. But I do not want to push it. I want her to do the hobbies she likes and be happy! But she looked adorable. It was a long show and I had to bring candy and toys to keep Cade busy and Matt was a trooper to sit through the whole thing too. I think he was proud of her too. I kept having mom thoughts, like I hope she does not get diarrhea during the show (she had it this week) and I hope she does not fall off the stage (she kept watching her instructor and not the stage and I was so afraid she was going to step right off the stage). But she did great and looked gorgeous!
Casen is really a great baby. He is too big for his bassinet and I had to move him to his big crib in the other room and I am so not ready to do that. Yesterday at church, it was one of those days, where you wonder why you came. I was in the mothers room either feeding or changing a poopy diaper. It was frustrating. I tried to get a spiritual message from yesterday, but I struggled.
And today Cade is sick as a dog. Last night he was up throwing up. It was all over his bed, so I was up changing beds at 4 AM. He is still throwing up, but all it is now is Sprite, popsicles, and soup! And I now know what it means to be "coming out both ends." Poor guy and poor mom. I think I have thrown away 3 pairs of underwear away today, because it was that bad and I am not washing them by hand or sticking them in the washer. And every time I give him a bath, the water somehow turns brown. All I can say it "POOR GUY." This is the sickest he has ever been. And this is his last week of preschool and his preschool "End of the year" party is tomorrow. I really hope he feels better by then. And I can't wait till this day is over!
Anyone watch Prison Break or Survivor? Watched both of those finales yesterday. WOW!!! Great end to PRISON BREAK and for the first time, the winner of Survivor was the one I wanted to win!
So my birthday and anniversary are coming up and I cannot believe I am turning 30. AWFUL! And it is our 10 year anniversary, but we have a baby and cannot go anywhere. SO we will celebrate next year. But May is a busy month for us and it is going by too fast!

Busiest Month Ever

So May is my busiest month..... both my older kids birthdays, my birthday, mothers day, my anniversary, end of school parties, last of the soccer games, end of schoool, dance revue, and the gorgeous weather. So last weekend we had a little birthday party for Corey at the fun park. She turned 6. She wanted a skating party. So it went great, but my stupid memory card on my camera was full and the party was a little hectic with all the kids, so no skating pics. I am so bummed. But Toph and Brit came up from Provo and so did my 2 sisters Em and Becca came from Provo area too. I have decided that birthday parties somewhere besides home are the best. Easiest clean-up ever!
It was fun and she had alot of fun! I cannot believe that my little girl is 6! Crazy! And Auntie Em came up with her dog MYA and Becca came up too. Wish we could all get together more often.
I love hanging out with family.
Corey also had her last soccer game on Wednesday and she was way bummed. She loves it. In fact, on her birthday, she had a soccer game in the morning and she must have had birthday adrenaline because she scored 5 goals. It was awesome. She was so proud!
Spring looks like it is here and summer close behind. Went to the park today with the kids. It was relaxing! Better than my day on Wednesday. I am almost embarrassed to write about it. I hit the garage again with my car, backing out. The garage door was on the way down. I knew the garage was up, but it is just habbit for me to hit the garage door opener. It was awful! I felt like the biggest idiot. This is the second time in like 6 months. WHO DOES THAT? Then I messed up on some bill and we got charged major interest. It was just a LOSER day and I cried a little . I had to vent.
So I have been playing futsol with a few ladies at church and it is so fun... a killer workout too. I am not as fast as I use to be and definitely not as coordinated. Corey said I am "kinda fast." She is so cocky about soccer already and she just started this year.
My little sports girl. She wants to quit dance after the dance revue tomorrow and only do soccer and gymnastics. But she does not realize that soccer is only a spring thing and that is it.
So ready for summertime. I Love it!
I miss my family this time of year. I wish they were here to do the fun summer things together. Wish we all lived closer. Love you guys!
