Ski Night @ Wolf Mt.

We got invited to go to Wolf Mt skiing one Monday night with Dan and Marsha Thatcher and I couldn't find a babysitter, so I was not sure I wanted to go. I was not sure I wanted to go sit in the lodge for 4 hours with Trouble 1 and Whiny 1. I had never been to Wolf Mt before so I did not know what to expect. But we had so much fun and I am so glad we decided to go. It is up Ogden Canyon, but a smaller Ogden Canyon, in a little city called Eden and Liberty. So cute! I guess it use to be called Nordic Valley and now it is Wolf Mt. It is just in the middle of this town, on one of their mountains. It is smaller then Beaver Mt. that we have up Logan Canyon, but the bunny hill and the Magic Carpet are similar to Beavers.

The first hour or so, I did just sit in the lodge with Crew and Casen and we even played in the snow a little outside, watching Matt and the older kids ski. It was Daylight Savings, so it stayed light till about 7:30/8:00. And it was a super nice day...super warm.  It was night skiing, so we ended up going from about 5:30-9. It was the coolest.

As we were outside watching, Casen decided he wanted to try skiing! We did not think he was ready because he is kind of whiny, but we decided to give it a try!  So I went and got him ready to ski. We did bring the little kids stuff just in case they wanted to try it. I walked up and down the bunny hill with Crew while Casen was learning to ski...prob about 10 times. And I was tired and sweating. I had to keep taking off layers. But it was so cool to watch Casen learning. And then I decided to teach him how to use the Magic Carpet by himself and that worked out the best! I would just walk along side the magic carpet to make sure he was OK. By the end of the night, we could just stand at the top of the bunny hill and watch  him ski to the bottom, get on the magic carpet, ride it up, and get off by himself at the top. It was so neat! He probably went up and down that hill like 50 times. He was loving it. It was a really short little hill! We had to literally pull him off the hill to go home at 9:00 PM. They were closing!

As I was teaching Casen to ski, Crew kept crying because he wanted a turn. I was laughing because Crew is such a go-getter and wants to try everything the older kids do. Casen was upset, but we made Casen let Crew try skiing. Casen was upset because we only had one pair between the two of them to share.  We let Crew go up and down the hill probably 10 times and he loved it. Matt traded with me for a few runs and let me go up with the older kids. Matt had him skiing and going up and down the magic carpet (with help). It was so cute! I was amazed at how well he was learning. I think I was helping him too much. Matt kind of just let both of them go and they learned way better on their own!

I was so glad we took the time to teach them. They picked it up so fast. It was so fun! And it was so fun to see Corey and Cade too and how much better they are getting. Corey is very cautious but doing great! And Cade is not afraid of anything. And he is doing great too. It will so cool one day when we can all ski and go together, on the lifts, as a family! We also had a fun time with Dan and Marsha and got to catch up with them! Our kids had fun with their kids too.

I swear I went that night....I just never get any pics of myself. I wish I would've got some pics of Marsha's fam too. I found this on Corey's Ipad and thought it was cute. And there is proof that I actually went too. There is 1 pic of me. I need to be better at that and get more pics of me!
