Holiday Fun with Jen's Family- After Xmas

After Xmas my parents came into town and we did alot of fun stuff. They first stopped in Pleasant Grove to visit my sister and her husband and then we met them in SLC to see the Temple Square Lights. We also got a nice tour of the Conference Center because my parents had never been there. It was really nice; especially since it was litk 15 degrees or lower that night, almost not enjoyable. We had to keep finding places to go indoors to keep warm. But it was still a nice experience.
The next day we just lounged all day, but we did go ice skating that night, which was pretty fun. It was fun to see mom and dad. They had not been in while. My kids actually did pretty good. Corey did not even need her "Kid Walker" at the end of the night. She was doing so good. And Cade really liked his. Those walkers make it alot easier for parents to take a few kids at a time. We all had alot of fun and alot of laughs watching everyone fall. Dad had some good falls. Some guy even gave dad a "10" on one of his falls.
Then Wednesday, it ended up snowing, so we went tubing with the kids. Mom even came and helped to watch Casen and Matt left early from work and met us over there. We were only there for an hour, but it felt like 3 hours, as many times as we had to climb up the hill. I got some awesome tubes at Wal-Mart. Cade cracked us up. He was so brave. He would just go alone and so fast. Casen went once with Matt. I was nervous! And Corey.... so cautious. She had fun, but very cautious. Me, Matt, Em and Dad also went a bunch. It brought back memories of when we were kids. We even had a few races to see who could go the farthest!
That night we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and for Dad's birthday. The wait was kinda long, but it was fun. And my kids got a kick out of watching Papa ride the saddle for his birthday. We had to beg him to do that. And Em and Steven were also here, for a couple of days with their dog MYA. I was a little stressed with Mya in my new basement. But it ended up being OK.
Thursday, was my dads birthday, so we celebrated with a birthday breakfast. And then my dad and I went skiing while Matt went fishing with Em's husband Steven. And Em and my mom watched the kids. It was alot of fun. We just went up to Beaver for 1/2 of a day. And we got in about 6 runs. Our legs were both feeling like Jelly by the last run, but I thought we both did pretty good, considering we have not been in awhile and our age. I thought I was not going to be sore, but about 24 hours later, WOW, every muscle in my body ached. Turning old kinda sucks! We did go in the hot tub that night to help our muscles and to celebrate NEW YEARS. We also watched a movie in the THEATRE ROOM that night. So it was a relaxing NEW YEARS. The kids tried to make it till MIDNIGHT, but they both fell asleep during the movie. We actually did use our theatre room alot this time.
Friday we spent the day getting ready for Casen's early bday....preparing food and decorating. The kids did finally get to build a snowman with Grandpa with MYA"S help.
I think the kids had a great time with grandma and grandpa and with Emmy and Steven and their dog Mya. They loved Mya and the also loved playing the WII downstairs with Emmy. They used our basement more than they usually do, because people were down there and my kids have to have interaction with adults at all times. FUNNY!
I was sad to see them go and a little depressed for a few days. I really miss them when they go! Now it is time to clean and dejunk and take down all my Xmas decorations. SO SAD!
