Dreadful Weekend

So no pics with this blog because I am sure we all just look awful this week, especially me..... No make-up, no hair done, etc. Corey woke up Friday morning with a sky high fever of 103 and I knew it was here. Whether or not we had the flu or swine flu, I do not know, but we are slowly getting better and it was awful.

Corey and I had the same symptoms.... fever, sore throat, forced cough, body aches, etc. But Casen and Cade just had a low-grade fever and throwing-up. It is always sad to watch a baby throw-up.

And the other thing that sucked is that I was sick too and Matt was gone in Moab till late Sat. night, which could have been good because maybe he will not get it. But I doubt it. This thing is catchy. But I was so tired and was having to tend to the kids.... fever checks at 3 in the morning, laundry with dirty towels and clothes and blankets, lysoling for germs, washing barfed on sheets, etc. The wonders of motherhood.

Everytime I am really sick, I always appreciate my mom more because she took care of me when I was young. I always wish I could be the child for the week and be taken care of, instead of taking care of others while I feel crappy too. And never getting enough sleep when it is really needed.

The grossest part of motherhood I have to admit and I am sure most mothers agree is throw-up. I would much rather clean-up poop or get it on my hand, but throw-up is awful. Cade somehow got in our bed Sat. night and with no warning started blowing chunks all over me and Matt and our bed. SOOOO GROSSSS! Then at 3 in the morning, I was changing bed sheets and bathing Cade and me and trying to get the rest of the kids back in bed. SOOOO CRAPPY! Throw-up sucks! Where is that in the how-to manual for motherhood?

But we are all getting better just in time for Halloween and candy. The kids were so worried they would miss that. No more fevers. Just a little on the weak side and no appetite. We should be better by Halloween. Had to cancel our little Halloween party we have every year with relatives and neighbors because I was just not feeling up to it and who wants to come to a house that was just infected with the flu?? NOT ME! So maybe again next year!!!

Kinda hope it was the swine and we got it out of the way! But who knows?? Wish they would do testing to let us know! It would be so much more reassuring as a mom to know that we all had it and survived and are immune to it. OH WELL! We are all getting better and that is all that matters. NOW JUST TO GET CAUGHT UP ON SLEEP!

Halloween Fun with Friends & at School

Last week was really fun for Corey and Cade. Corey had lost of fun things going on at school because it was RED RIBBON Week. She had a "crazy hair" day, "Pajama Day," and "Hero Day." Crazy Hair Day was suppose to be Pippy Longstocking style, but I could not get it to work at 7:30 in the morning. So we went with colored piggy buns or something to that effect. Then Hero Day, I was not about to go and buy another costume, so we went with Pink Superman shirts from Old Navy and we bought a few for her cousins and friend. They looked adorable.
We also carved pumpkins and ate Chilli at the Bundersons house and that was fun too. We always have alot of fun with them and our kids get along so well too. Matt even got into the action of pumpkin carving this year. He is usually not huge on Halloween stuff. Corey was pretty bummed when she had to miss Spirit Day on Friday because she came down with the dreaded FLU.

Midnight Madness- CRAFTY ONLY ONCE A YEAR

So for those of you that know me, I am so not the crafty type or the creative type. Two things I fail at are Crafts and Hair. I am so not creative. If someone gives me the materials and an example, I can sometimes copy it. It may not look as good as the model, but close. So once a year, our ward has this thing called Midnight Madness, where we signed up for crafts, and we work on all them till 11:00 PM, without the kids. It is fun, but by the end of the night, I am so crafted out. So here are my 4 crafts I did. I was glad how they turned out, but I am also glad they are over with. Until next year........

St. George & Vegas- UEA Weekend

We decided to get away from Logan for UEA because the weekend was suppose to be freezing and our kids had a few days off. So we left Thursday night and headed down to St. George. Our friends the Bundersons met us down there late Thursday night.
We had alot of fun! We went swimming at this really fun community pool. The kids loved it. We also let them play in there fountains in downtown St. George. The weather was perfect... 75 Degrees one day and 80 degrees another. We also chose to go into Las Vegas on Saturday. Ryan, one of our friends had never been there and I don't think his kids had either. His wife had been once. We did spend a little too long at the AWESOME outlets there. I think we wore the kids out. And shopping with Matt is no fun. I didn't get to buy very much. But I guess it was good for me. We ended up going into Vegas for a few hours. We drove down the strip so the kids could see all the cool lights and hotels. Then we got out on the south end of Vegas and took them to the M&M factory and the Coke Factory and then we walked down and saw the Bellagio Fountain show. By this time it was probably 10:30 PM or so and the kids were pooped. That last 30 minutes was torture trying to make it back to the car with 7 tired kids and only 3 strollers. And it is really funny the attention you get when you take kids to Vegas; especially 7 kids and 3 strollers. It was fun and I am glad the kids got to go, but next time we need to do an adult trip. You can do so much more and walk alot farther and dress up cute with high heels.
Oh and did I forget to mention that we ate at In-n-Out 2 times and if we would have let Matt, we would have eaten there for every meal! He is obsessed.
The kids played really well together and we had alot of fun with our friends. And I could not believe how good baby Casen was. He was awake the whole time in Vegas in awe of the lights.
