Following Cade's baptism that Saturday, June 1st, we hopped in the car and headed to the cabin in Star Valley, Wyoming. JR and Becca, Em & Mya, mom and dad, and my family, all headed up there. We got up there Late Saturday afternoon. We had a few pitstops. One for about an hour, right outside of Preston, waiting for this huge oversized truck to pass us. And then we stopped in Soda Springs for a little hike and a little "looksie" at the cool Bubbling Fountain! I love road trips when you are not in a hurry! We just took our time getting there. It was pleasant! That night we went into Afton to get a bite to eat at a cute little Mexican Restaurant!
Sunday, we decided to hang around the cabin till about noon and then we headed into Jackson for the day. After Matt got pulled over and got a ticket (his first one since he was 16 years old), we visited the old TETON MYSTERY. It is actually closed down, but we still went and checked it out. It is so weird. The way the thing is built, with the gravity works is the weirdest feeling. It almost makes you feel sick! Then we headed over to Bubbas to eat some good BBQ. That place never upsets...always yummy! We then walked around Jackson Hole downtown for a bit and looked at some fun stores and took pics by the ELK HORN ARCH! Then we went for a nice drive up to Jackson Hole Resort to look around up there too! So pretty! It always makes me want to take a trip, with just Matt and I, to ride our bikes!
We headed back to the cabin for another hour or so before Becca and JR had to head home. They both had to work Monday!
The rest of us stayed one more day! We tried to take the kids swimming on Monday, but it was closed, so we just enjoyed the cabin and relaxed. We then headed back around 2 or so. We headed home the Bear Lake Way so that we could stop in Bear Lake and get some yummy shakes! My dad was trying to be funny and put his name down on his SHAKE ORDER as MR. SHI THEAD! (Get it!) Ha Ha DAD! The guy actually called it out, which was super funny! We had a nice drive and my kids were really easy in the car! It was a pleasant trip and I think we could've all stayed a day longer, so we could've gone on that hike that I really wanted to go on! (I was pouting a little on Sunday, because no one wanted to go on my hike down to Lunch Counter Rapids in Jackson Hole Canyon!)
