The Reception

The reception was really pretty too. It was at the same hotel their ceremony was at. It was at the Sheraton in Carlsbad. It was a huge ballroom and decorated so pretty! So classy! They had a cocktail hour before the reception that was fun because we got to talk to a bunch of old friends and neighbors and cousins. It was really fun to see alot of Mike's friends that he grew up with and how much they had changed!

Angie had the hotel set up a cute room for our 5 kids that were in the wedding....Faith, Taylor, Corey, Cade and Wright JR. They had their own room right off the reception ballroom, that had a table with a bunch of toys and pizza and pop and cookies. It was sweet. They were loving it. Corey said it was the "Best night of her life." I think they were in heaven because they were with their cousins, all alone, in a fun room. I think they felt grown up. They didn't want the kids at the reception until after the dinner! So the kids played in their room until the dancing part of the reception. It actually worked out perfect. And the other 4 little kids...Casen, Tristan, Crew and Aspen were home at Grandma's with another babysitter! It really did make it easier for the adults to not have the little ones there!

After the cocktail hour, they had everyone sitting at their tables and they brought the wedding party in and the BRIDE AND GROOM! They had their 1st dance, which was adorable. I was so glad she kept her wedding dress on, because some brides change into a different dress. I loved her dress and wanted her to wear it again! She did! She looked stunning!

Then Mike danced with my mom and Angie danced with her dad! Then Angie's dad gave a cute speech! And Angie's sister, Tina, the MAID of HONOR gave a little speech and so did Mike's Best Man, Jason. Jason's speech was hilarious. It was tender at times and so funny at times. He talked about Mike's big head as a kid and how he was a bobble head, but he eventually grew into it! He just told some funny stories about Mike and about coming to our house! It was a really classy speech and so funny! I loved it! It was the highlight of my night! He just seemed so natural up there and so funny!

They had a cute photo booth and the dinner was really nice. And the service was great! They also did cutting of the cake and the garter toss and the bouquet toss. They also had some fun dancing and that is when the kids all came into the room and onto the dance floor and so did the cousins! Uncle Greg and Brett were really getting their groove on and so was Shauna and Casie and Jeff. So funny! And me and my sisters were out there dancing too and so was JR. It is so fun to dance with my sisters because no no I know likes to dance like we do. This was actually probably the highlight of my night! It was so fun!

The night turned out so fun! We stayed till about 11:00 and then had to get home to relieve the babysitter. Luckily they had all fallen asleep by the time we had gotten home!
