Corey' Real Birth Day- May 10th

I can't believe my daughter is 8 years old. It is so crazy to me. Her birthday fell on a Tuesday this year so we decided to do a little something with the family on her real birth day. For her birthday I gave her the option of curly hair for school or crepes for breakfast and she chose crepes. I told her I would not have time to do both. So I had to wake up a little earlier to make crepes. My kids love those. I had also bought some balloons the night before to set up in the kitchen with her NEW BIKE. That was her gift this year because she outgrew her other bike. So she was not super suprised, because she chose it out, but she was excited.

Then that night, she had a soccer game. And of course she cried because they played a really hard team and so she did not score any goals. And she wanted to score a goal on her birthday. But she still did awesome. Then that night she chose to go to Cafe Rio for dinner and then SubZero for Ice Cream. So we did that. And then we just came home opened presents from her brothers and sang Happy Birthday with some cupcakes. They were a little too full for cupcakes and ice cream, but we still sang Happy Birthday and lit candles. It was a nice day. I just still can't believe I have an 8 year old. I feel so old!

Can't Believe I Have An 8 Year Old

Corey has been so excited to turn 8...obviously because kids love birthdays, but also because it is a special birthday for her. She will be getting baptized in June. She is so excited. All her friends are turning 8 and getting baptized and she has been going to a few of the baptisms and is so excited about hers.

We had her Aunt Mandy take some baptism pics of her the other day and these are just a few of them. They turned out so cute. Corey is really learning how to smile more naturally and looking more grown up.

But we had a fun day today for her real birthday! I will post more of those pics later. I just wanted to post these gorgeous pics of my 8 year old and wish her a Happy Birthday. I can't believe we have an 8 year old. WE MUST BE GETTING OLD!

I wanted to post this video, mainly for family and friends that do not live nearby and get to see my baby grow up. Crew is 3 months old here and he is the happiest baby. He loves to giggle and smile and we actually caught some of that on video.

Crew's First Rollover- 14 weeks old

So today is actually Corey's 8th birthday and I will blog about her in a minute, but I had to share the fact, that my little 3 month old baby Crew rolled over today. Lately, he has been scooting around the floor on his back and I have had to be careful where I set him because he moves all over. He is so strong. So I put him on the floor today and he rolled over from back to belly, which they usually learn after the belly to back roll. Right? Anyway, he is growing and such a strong little thing. We really have been blessed with a pleasant and easy baby!

Can't Complain...Too Much Hair

So my 3 1/2 month old has too much hair. I gave him the curse of hair. He was born with a ton of hair and lately I have not been able to style it. If I part it...he looks NERD ALERT, but if I try to spike it a little, it is too long. So Crew got his first haircut yesterday. His aunt Mandy just trimmed it and he looks so cute. Everyone in the family keeps saying he looks fatter, but it is just the haircut. It brings out his chubby cheeks. And he also is growing a unibrow already. That is where I really cursed my kids. They all have it. It sucks! Oh and you gotta love the RUBBED OFF hair in the back around this age. Love it!

He is still a great sleeper at night. And he is so fun at this age...Cooing and giggling when you tickle him. I love it. We are almost finished with his room and still adding a few touches on the older kids rooms. So I will post soon on that. We have some busy weeks coming up too with Coreys bday and baptism and school ending soon and soccer. Exciting stuff!

Easter Weekend

Friday night we dyed Easter eggs...me, Corey and Cade and it was fun. The kids always enjoy doing it and we all love to eat the hard-boiled eggs afterwards.

Saturday, we actually decided to go to the City Easter Egg Hunt. It was a clear day, but pretty cold, so Matt stayed home with Crew and I took the other 3 kids. When we pulled up, it was packed. I did not realize that this was a huge event. So it took us awhile to walk there....Luckily I did not have the baby with me or we would not have made it. I had to carry Casen there so we could make it. Anyway, we get there and I find the different fields where the kids were suppose to be. They had age groups on each field. So I turn around to find Casen's field and they blow the GO Whistle and by the time we got to the field, there were no more eggs and little kids crying everywhere. There were way too many kids and not enough eggs. Luckily Casen did not really know what was going on...so he was not sad. I just kept talking it up. So we went and found the other kids and they gave him a few eggs. So needless to say, the kids had fun, but I don't know that we will go again next year. Too much work, for 3-4 eggs. They did get to visit the Easter Bunny and sit on his lap. Casen loved that. He is not afraid of stuff like that. It cracks me up. He is more afraid of big dogs and Loud noises. We also saw a few neighborhood kids there too. That night we went to dinner with Matt's brother Toph and sister Mandy and their families and then hung out at our house for a couple of hours.

Then Easter morning, the kids actually slept in till 9 AM, which was nice. Then they got up and did the Easter egg hunt at our house and found a little present the Easter bunny left them...a coloring book, bubbles, and a stuffed animal. Then we had breakfast and vegged for an hour or so. We then got ready to go to the first hour of church, which was nice. It feels good to start going to church again. I really miss it when I stay away for awhile. (We did not want to take our newborn there for a few months.) Then we had to leave church early to get to Nanny and Norms house for dinner and another Easter Egg hunt. Tophs family was there and so was Mandys. Chads family was with Lynleys family this year. Dinner was so good. I think it is because I am a terrible cook and any home cooked meal tastes so good to me right now. Then the kids had an Easter egg hunt. And we stayed in the backyard and hung out for a bit. The weather was pretty good. Sunny, just a little chilly. After hanging out and saying our goodbyes, we went out and saw my Grandpa Allan for 30 minutes or so. He just got in town for the summer, so we went out to say Hi to him. We got home and the day was over. It seemed like a really long day, but it was a special day.

It was a nice Easter. It was fun to see Casen get excited this year about the Easter Bunny and the candy. He actually understood what to do. I also love spending time with family and I love a good meal. I also love going to church on Easter. But I do feel that with 4 young kids, sometimes it is hard to feel that spirit in church because it is so busy. But I did not let the day go by, without thinking about this wonderful holiday and why we celebrate it. I love my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and am thankful everyday for what he has done for us. I know I am not perfect and without him, I would not be able to repent and be forgiven.
