Corey had her Skyview track meet again this year on Wednesday because she finished in the top 3 of her grade of girls in the Greenville Mile. So the 1st place girl finisher, which was Ryley, gets to run the mile again, against other 1st place girls from the other 7-8 schools that were there, from the northern end of town. Then the 2nd and 3rd place girls get to do a relay race with the 2nd and 3rd place boys. They each get to run a lap, and pass a baton, which ends up being 1 mile total.
Last year Corey was so nervous. She didn't know what to expect last year. This year she was a little nervous, but not like last year! She got to be the 3rd leg of her race and she did great! It was so windy and so all the runners were having a hard time running against the wind. I felt bad for them, especially the mile runners. It probably affected some of their times. Corey's team didn't get 1st place this year, but they did get a time of 5:47, which is pretty dang fast! Track is kinda fun to watch, but I don't think Corey is that interested in just running! She is great at it, but I think she would rather run in a game, like soccer! She sure kicks my butt!
She had alot of her friends and family there supporting her. Alot of the girls from her soccer team were running and the others were there to support the girls! They really are a cute group of girls. Ryley ran the mile this year and got 2nd again. Kaitlin, on their soccer team got 1st again with 6:52 and Ryley got 7:02 and Morgan on their soccer team, got 3rd again. It is so cool to see all these soccer players becoming such good runners!
