A Day in Salt Lake with Aunties

We wanted to have one last day in SLC with my sisters because school will be starting soon and the weather will be changing and it will be harder to get down and see them. So we met Auntie Becca around lunch time and hung around the kids museum for about 3-4 hours. My kids love this place. We also had some lunch and came back and played at the museum again. It was nice because my kids were playing and allowing Becca and I to get caught up and talk. Then she had to go to work.

And Em had just gotten off of work and wanted to meet us at the mall and hang out for a bit. So we left the museum and went and met Em. We got the kids some ice cream and played in the fountains. They were very dissapointed that I forgot their bathing suits. Because all the other kids were in  their bathing suits in the fountains. And they did not want to get super wet because we did not have a change of clothes with us or any towels. But they got cooled off a little. We did shop at 1-2 stores, which was miserable because it was about 6 :00 PM and they were hungry and Casen had not had a nap. So that did not last long. We said our good-byes to Em and left to go home. It is fun to make time for my sisters, even though sometimes it is just for a short time and they fit us in between work shifts. Salt Lake just does not feel close enough. Wish we lived closer and could hang out on a day-to-day basis.

A Nice Weekend @ The Cabin

We had a really nice time at the cabin this past weekend. We have not been there, as a whole family for about a year, so it was time. We went  up Friday night, with Dan and Marsha and their kids and got there kind of late. After we got the kids in bed, I think we talked till 2 AM and I could not figure out why I was not tired. I guess I had drank a Diet Coke at about 9:30 PM, a pretty big one and the cafeeine was keeping me awake. I sure felt it in the morning when Crew and Casen woke up at 7:30.

Saturday was fun too. The Thatchers were perfect to go with this time because of the activities we did. We decided to go into Jackson and go to Teton Village and let the kids try the easy bike runs. They had so much fun! I think the kids went up about 7-8 times and Matt and Dan would follow them. It was Cade, Corey and Brodyn. They even went on a few blue trails. They would ride the lift up and it would take about 15 minutes to come down a run. They were a little slow, but they loved it. Me and Marsh even got to go up a run. And Dan and Matt went on a few harder ones, just the two of them. We wanted to stay longer and do a few more runs, but it started to sprinkle and they closed the lifts cause of lightning. So instead we let the kids do the trampoline things instead. They were loving that. Corey was definitely more brave. Cade gets a little nervous with heights. I did not think he was scared of anything. Anyways, we had a fun day. We wanted to do a few more things that day like hike to lunch counter and see the boats and go swimming at the cabin pool, but the weather was not cooperating. So we decided to go to Afton and go to a great Mexican Restraunt that Dan was craving. It was pretty good, but our kids were not so good. I was excited to get back to the cabin and let the kids relax. We did not stay up as late this night cause we were all feeling it from the night before.

Dan and Marsha had a bad weekend with their truck..they hit a cow on the way up and they got a flat tire on the way back to the cabin from Afton. So they had to leave early, to drive home, and drive slow on their spare tire. We had way fun with them. They are so chill and easy to get along with. And their kids play good with our kids. It seems like the older we are all getting and the bigger our families are getting, it is hard to go on vacations with huge groups now. So we have just been taking fun trips every once in awhile, with a few different families at a time.

Sunday morning, our family got up and ate breakfast, hung around outside and just relaxed. It was a little rainy, so we could not do much. The kids were fighting quite a bit that morning and so I knew we needed to get out. Matt took the kids for a LONG RIDE on the golf cart while I cleaned and the baby slept. Then they took a ride down to the playground on their bikes and me and Casen and Crew followed them down in the car. We then ate at the grill there and let the kids play and then headed home. We did decide to go home the Bear Lake way and do a little site seeing. It was alot of fun. And I can't wait to go up there again. This time was super fun because it had been awhile since we had been up and we did some NEW THINGS that we had never done before..kind of changed it up a bit! The kids loved it too!

Cool New Bathtime Invention

So Crew loves the bath and he keeps wanting to sit up in the bath, but he is not strong enough yet and tips over. So I saw this bath seat the other day in a baby magazine and I bought it. It is so awesome. It suction cups to the bottom of the bathtub. He can sit up in it and play with Casen. I still have to be right there in case it tipped over or something, but at least I don't have to be on my hands and knees leaning into the bath, trying to hold Crew up and wash him at the same time. He loves it. He cries everytime I take him out to get him dressed. I love my baby boys...especially when they are clean and smell like baby lotion.
