Last Week of School Activities

The last week of school was very fun and exciting. The kids were done with most of their projects and they didn't have any homework, so they got to just have fun with their friends. They even had a few field trips to parks nearby. Corey even got to have a sleepover in her cousins boat one night.

This was a picture of the last day of school. I can't believe that my kids are growing up so fast. Cade graduated 3rd grade and will be a 4th grader next year. And Corey graduated 5th grade and will be a 6th grader next year, and in middle school. AHHH!

This was during the last week of school too. Corey's class was the wining class from her 5th grade classes at Greenville and so they got to play the big 5th Grade Softball game against North Park. They played at Elk Ridge and so we went to go watch! It was a neck n neck game. The score was 0-0 forever and I really didn't think anyone was going to score. Both teams had alot of good boys in the infield and so they were just getting kids out left and right! Corey was chosen to bat as the first girl on her team. She hit it her first time at bat, but got out at 1st base. And on her 2nd hit, she hit it again, and made it to 1st base. Corey actually got to be the winning score. She was on 3rd base and a kid in her class, named Calvin, was up to bat and he was a heavy hitter. He hit a great hit and no one caught it, so Corey ran home and scored. Corey's run into home actually gave Greenville the WIN! Yeah! I was so nervous with her running into home. I was afraid a bunch of the boys were going to try and tag her out! And she couldn't slide because she was wearing shorts. But it was a great hit by Calvin! And so Corey made it home! SAFE! The teachers said it was the closest game they had ever seen! It was such a big deal, they even got a huge TROPHY!

This was the 2nd to last day of school and they had an awards assembly. Poor Casen was sick in the car, so I could only stay for a minute or so. I stayed to watch Corey get her medal for 1st in the Greenville Mile. And I stayed to watch Corey and Cade get an award for reading! So exciting! So proud of them!

Corey had a bunch of parties on the last day of school, and so Cade wanted to invite a few friends over to our house! He invited a few of his friends...Mathew, Henry, Boston, Cambree, Carson and a few others who could not come. They just played in the hot tub and on the trampoline with the sprinklers. They played baseball and ate snacks and played with water guns and balloons. They had a lot of fun! Cade wants to do it again during the summer sometime!

The kids sure are excited for summer and so am I. No more homework. No more getting up early to catch the bus! But hopefully not too much fighting and not too many BIG Messes!  Just soccer, baseball and swimming and fun!

These were just some cute pics I took of Casen in primary. He was doing the hand motions to some of the songs. Isn't he the cutest?

May 2014 Fun!

A few fun holidays for me this month are my birthday and my anniversary. My birthday was a little crazy this year with a jam-packed kid schedule and sick kids, so I celebrated it the next day and Matt and I got to go to dinner. And I had a fun bday lunch with some neighbor friends. Our anniversary was also a little busy and jam packed, but we made it home in time for a dinner date. That day was busy, but I did get a card and roses a day late. I love flowers. And the card Matt gave me was such a pretty card and had such beautiful words. It was worth it to wait a day! It was 15 years this year. May is always a crazy month for us, so we are hoping to celebrate it in June sometime!

Me and Em got to go to a Crossfit Regionals tournament in Sandy one day and it was alot of fun! It was so fun to watch how amazing these athletes are and to check out all the hot guys, for EM of course! Ha ha! I even got teary eyed when this " Mom of 6" finished her workout! What an inspiration!

And that night, we met up with Becca and went to the Cheesecake Factory. I love that place! It was so good and it was so nice being able to talk without wrestling kids! Wish they lived closer and we could do this more often!

Memorial Weekend- Wasatch Soccer Tournament

This weekend was pretty fun, but also pretty intense. Corey and her soccer team played in the Wasatch Tournament in Kaysville. We played some teams that we have played before. We played two Wasatch teams that we had played during the season and beat them. And then we ended up playing the Strikers Team in the Championship, on Memorial Day; a team that we lost to in the season. It felt so good to beat them, even though the game got pretty heated. Our goalie Brooke got hurt in the 1st half. Corey got hurt in the 2nd half and a DR. that was there, advised her not to go back in, if she had a head ache. So she sat out the last 15 minutes of the game. I was worried having her out, because I felt like they needed her, but I was worried to put her back in, in case she got another head injury. Luckily they won. We also had a few guest players with us...ALY, CLARE, and TALIA. So that definitely helped. And Em and Grandma Christy and Grandpa Allan came to a few games. It was fun to share games like that with Grandma and Great-Grandpa and Em.

On Monday, before heading to Kaysville for the game, we put some flowers on the grandparents graves in Wellsville. It was nice. I always love the way the cemetery looks on Memorial Weekend!
