Catching Up!

There are a few posts I had to catch up on. So read back more than just one post!

Camping at our very fav Cherry Hill

This past weekend we had so much fun! We decided to do the very favorite Cherry Hill camping trip a little earlier this year because we want to squeeze it in twice. Once in June and once in September. We love this place! It is SO my type of camping because the kids do not get dirty!

Friday night we got there around 6:00 and set up camp! Then we hopped in the car and went and ate at Chilis. Then when we got back we went and played a round of mini golf. Matt took the kids over with the rest of the group while I took the baby for a quick walk and then I joined everyone else. This year, Nate Daugs and his family came and so did Ammon Daugs and his family. Then after  mini golf, it was about 11:00 PM already and so we all just came back and got everyone ready for bed and hopped in bed. This was the first time taking our new Camper and so we had to figure out how things were going to work the best for sleeping.

Then Saturday, we woke up, ate breakfast and everyone kind of lounged around and got dressed. Then we took the kids over and played on the soft play and did some rock climbing and then the kids were hot and ready to go and swim. We spent the majority of the day at the water park and the dragon slides, which my kids love. Em joined us about noon or so and spent the rest of the day and night with us. Em loved the water park too. I had a good time too. I did have to spend most of the time with the babies, but I did get to go on a few slides and in the water a bit with the kids. I also had the opportunity to change TWO DIRTY WET POOPY UP THE BACK DIAPERS. So GROSS! After we had had enough sun and were done swimming, we all went and got dressed and ready and made some dinner back at camp, we then headed back over to the rock climbing wall and the soft play. This time the adults did a little rock climbing. My camera ran out of batteries so I do not have too many pics the 2nd day. Then our friends left to get back home, but we stayed one more night! That night we also did the batting cages...we ate pie and ice cream at the Pie Pantry and we all did not sleep well because Casen moaned all night long. WOW IT WAS A LONG NIGHT! I was definitely tired the next morning.

SO then Sunday, we got up, lounged, ate breakfast, and then around noon, we packed up and got ready to go home. It was so relaxing. We love our new camper. Casen is so fun to take camping except he sleeps like crap. The kids also got to ride their bikes alot. It was super crowded, so it was a little nerve wracking letting the kids ride their bikes all over. And Crew loved the outdoors too. He slept in the stroller for 3-4 hours, at the water park on Saturday and he loved to be in his playpen, outside, where at home he does not love being in it. It was a great time and we can't wait to go again in September and hopefully some more families will join us!

A Trip to California

I had a really relaxing and low key trip at my parents house in California. My mom has not been feeling well the last 3 months and so I thought that if I brought the baby out to see her that it might help her cheer up and to get better faster. (She has not seen Crew since he was born). She had an allergic reaction to her blood pressure medicine which then caused her to feel SOOOO sick and weak and then that led to anxiety. Her potassium levels were also low which led to her feeling sooo sick. After weeks and weeks of tests and seeing many doctors and trying different medications, they finally have it all figured out. She is free of all prescriptions and learning to control her blood pressure and anxiety without medication. We are all so glad she is feeling better. My mom is such a good listener that she tried to tackle eveyones problems, which she needs to learn to not worry about  her kids. We have to solve our problems on our own.

I decided to just bring the two little ones...Crew and Casen...which was a little tricky traveling without the help of my older two. But we made it. And I did not really have any major plans except to hang out with my parents and to let them enjoy Crew and Casen. My older two kids stayed home with Matt and with the help of my sister-in-law and my friend, they bounced back and forth to their houses during the day.

On Monday, I flew in and my brother picked me up from the airport. I am bummed I did not get any pics of him. This was the first time he met Crew. We drove down to my parents house in San Diego...he lives in L.A....and on the way we stopped at my sister Stephs house in San Clemente for a few hours and visited with her and her kids. I really do miss hanging out...our whole family. So it was really low key, but we just talked and got caught up.

Then that night, I just hung out with my parents. I ended up coming home to Logan with a sore throat because my mom and I were up too late talking every night. But my brother had to go back to LA that night, so I did not get to see him a ton.

Then Tuesday, my mom and I went shopping for a few hours at Target and the Carlsbad outlets. I kept telling her I could not buy alot because I had no room in my bags to bring it all home. But we had a nice time and ate SOOOOO bad that day. Way too many treats and junk. That night we just hung out at home again and ordered Robertos rolled tacos. The best tacos ever...with guac and cheese.

Then Wednesday, Steph came down with her little boys for half of the day...which Casen loved playing with Wright and Tristan. And we just sat around and talked all day too and got caught up. Then later that night, when my dad got home from work, we went out to eat at Chilis and then went for a walk on the beach. Casen was a little nervous of the loud waves. He kept saying "Beach Loud', but it sounded like he was saying "BIT** Loud." So freakin funny. Kinda like he talks about our fish at home, but he can't say his F's. So our fishies are called Bitchies at our house. Anyway, he loved the bunnies and the mice that we kept seeing in the brush by the beach.

Then the next day, I knew we had to go home, so I started doing some laundry and cleaning up and we spent the whole day just lounging and talking again. And we did end up visiting dad at his office and stopping by Stephs for a couple hours before heading to the airport. We did swim for about an hour at her house in San Clemente. I will post those pics when I get them.

So my older kids did miss me, but I was not ready to go home. I  miss not having my parents close by to watch my little ones grow up. But I was glad that my parents got to see Crew again and I was glad to see that my mom has improved so much.
